Biography

ROSA NEON was a Brazilian indie pop music group formed by Luizga, Marcelo Tofani, Mariana Cavanellas, Marina Sena, and Baka. It began to take shape in four locations in Minas Gerais when Marcelo Tofani and Luiz Gabriel Lopes, both singers and songwriters, were on the Capiau Elétrico tour, a series of acoustic shows featuring a repertoire based on their original projects, passing through the cities of Belo Horizonte, Milho Verde, Diamantina, and Montes Claros.

In July 2018, during a stop in Milho Verde, a small town in the interior of Minas Gerais, Marcelo and Luiz Gabriel met Marina Sena (from the band A Outra Banda da Lua) and Mariana Cavanellas (from Lamparina e a Primavera), who also performed at the 18th Milho Verde Cultural Festival. This marked the first encounter of Rosa Neon.

"We met in a very intuitive way; we didn't immediately think, 'let's form a band.' We just started getting closer, and that connection was so strong that Rosa Neon happened naturally," says singer and songwriter Mariana Cavanellas.

Spread across four cities, the members of Rosa Neon, each with their own independent projects, have been meeting monthly since the release of their first single, "Fala Lá pra Ela", in November 2018, to dedicate themselves to the project.

"Rosa is a union of four people committed to bringing true love, bodily freedom, this sense of dancing, of letting go," reflects Mariana.

The Minas Gerais-based band has sparked curiosity by releasing their songs alongside music videos monthly. One complements the other. The songs are paired with the meticulous aesthetic care of the art direction in the videos, led by Vito Soares and Belle de Mello, who follow the band's entire process and capture the atmosphere of the compositions.
