Biography

The Red Fox Bluesband was founded in spring 2007. The trademark of the band is the soulful and gritty voice of singer/harp player Torsten „Red Fox“ Rolfs. On top of a rock-steady groove brought to life by bassman Michael Nentwig and drummer Arno Christof, the stage qualities and intense playing of Torsten Rolfs and guitarist Andreas Wiesner can unfold. Since May 2009 the band is completed by the jazzy sounds of pianist Andrea Müller and saxophone player Jörn Vrampe. The Red Fox Bluesband play powerful yet highly danceable blues tunes and invite the audiences to join for a road movie through various blues styles. The players are heavily influenced by the classical swing and jump tunes of the late 40s and 50s but also by artists like the three Kings, Ronnie Earl and other contemporary blues musicians. Although rooted in swing and jump styles, the band performs various Chicago and Texas Blues-influenced numbers, infecting their audiences with a highly dynamic and stirring live performance between retro- and contemporary blues.
