Biography
Formed in 2019, Renunciation is a Russian desecrative black metal band from Moscow, fusing the genre's raw, atmospheric ferocity with technical death metal precision and progressive flourishes to create a chaotic, boundary-pushing sonic assault. Formed in the vibrant yet shadowy undercurrents of Russia's modern metal scene, the band channels themes of spiritual desecration, existential rupture, and metaphysical torment—delivering a sound that feels like a ritualistic unraveling of the soul amid Moscow's concrete sprawl.
Renunciation ignited in 2019, born from the fertile Moscow underground where black metal's second-wave echoes collide with technical extremity. Emerging amid a wave of post-Soviet metal innovation, the project quickly solidified as a tight-knit unit, emphasizing multi-instrumental virtuosity and thematic cohesion over spectacle.
