Biography

Rhodora is a the name of a poem written by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Emerson, for those who do not know, is a devout transcendentalist. Through this he holds the belief that God can be found in everything around us, in this case: Nature. The Rhodora is represented as an manifestation of God.

Rhodora doesn't hold to this belief. They believe very much in the living God, but he is not found in nature. God is found in the hope of a new way of living found in Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with Him.

The name Rhodora comes from the idea that people daily try to stamp God's name on things that are a mystery. We assume, and we misdirect. The Rhodora is no different. We cannot explain God. We can try, and we can fail. But ultimately God is God, and his explanation with the use of our minds is impossible.

"Rhodora" is a reminder of the times we have failed to explain God. Rhodora is a reminder to not try to put God in a box and tell everyone he is in there.

God is God. He is love. He is beauty. He is hope found in Jesus.
