Biography
Collaboration between Kent-based composers Richard Bundy and Anna Phoebe, and supported by a host of other musicians and artists, sitting at the heart of their Dover Unlocked project — at its core: to use music to open up hidden, overlooked historic spaces and let them be heard again, reimagining and quietly subverting the accepted narrative of this UK coastal border town. Anna Phoebe’s violin weaves through delicate acoustic & electronic textures and choral voices, while Richard Bundy’s piano adds moments of expressive clarity and rhythmic intensity. The Dover Unlocked project is rooted in the act of performing within the town's historical places, each with it's own character and resonance, which affects the sound and influences the performance within it. But ultimately, it became the unlocking of a town through time - a town that was waiting to be heard.
