Biography
Hailing from Sacramento, California, SPLIT THE FUCK OPEN is a brutally ignorant slamming death metal unit known for pushing the boundaries of heavy beatdown and pure pit violence. Coining their self-described "Sactown Slamdown" sound, the five-piece—featuring vocalist Owen, guitarists Nick and Andrew, bassist Dom, and drummer Danny—blends caveman-simple, low-tuned slam chugs with guttural gurgles and beatdown aggression. The band turned heads across the underground heavy scene with their hard-hitting 2024 EP, Curbstomp Classics, before unleashing a string of crushing singles like "Liquified on Impact" (feat. BOLTCUTTER) and "SLAMTARDATION" (featuring Angel Ochoa of Cephalotripsy). Unapologetically violent and built for ignorant mosh pits, SPLIT THE FUCK OPEN continues to solidify their place as a premier new force in modern California slam.
