The album is often viewed as Shattered Quartz's best work for its lo-fi, chill, trip-hop, and ethereal characteristics.
In the following year, 2024, Shattered Quartz released "Ecstasy," its second best work, characterized by atmospheric pads and breakbeats layered on top of each other.
This album quickly became popular in the Slenderverse fandom due to its samples of Marble Hornets in "Entry 52" and "Entry 36." Shattered Quartz also sampled lines from the video "Severance" by TribeTwelve in the song "I KNOW YOU’RE NOT EVAN, YOU’RE HABIT."
After this, Shattered Quartz went on a hiatus and began producing his next album, "Pain of Man." During the production of this album, Callum wasn't at his best and was dealing with personal problems.
Many fans were shocked by this change of genre, with Shattered Quartz becoming more noisy and hardcore. "A pleasant assault on the senses in a way that is coherent and chaotic at the same time," a fan said. "I wanna murder someone and jump dance on their body to this," another fan said.
Though this style was weird, many fans enjoyed it.
Shattered Quartz also gave away free download codes on Instagram for "Pain of Man" on Bandcamp.
