Biography

Solar Void is a psychedelic-blues-rock band hailing from the depths of Nowhereville, North Carolina. The drummer, Dustin Dean, and guitarist/vocalist, Erik Brandt, are cousins and have been playing together for 5 years with various bassists who were not satisfactory, and writing songs all the while. While Brandt is the primary songwriter, Dean has also been writing and will make his writing debut on the next release. Driven by mostly mainstream influences, such as Hendrix, Beatles, Nirvana, they are also influenced by the Hives, Kill Us On TV, and fellow local artists Dylan Vee and Tyler Nails. The band is also known for it's interest in foreign instruments, and are subject to play sitar, the Puerto Rican cuatro, dijareedoo, and other off the wall instruments. Although the band has been playing regularly in King, they will soon be moving operations to Boone. Their mission is to make eclectic and eccentric music that's worth a shit, and to play as many shows as possible.
