Biography
"The Star 27 project aims, they claim, to convert 27 devotees to their cause, which after this performance, shouldn’t be too difficult. The basis on which the four-piece build their reputation is the almost Dogme-style rules and regulations of performing on the 27th day of each month; wearing branded t-shirts; and timing each song to last around 3’10”, or two-minutes-and-seventy-sections. The result is a 4 song set lasting less than 10 minutes, but it’s a great little slice of punk-pop in the British style, hurtling at speed through Libertines and more ‘emo’ style crunches before reaching into old-style garage rock and piano-lead rock-n-roll. It’s over before it begins, but an interesting alternative to other rock groups could come in the maverick fast-forward sound of this little lot. " © Liam Pennington 2004
