Biography
Creating an energetic live experience through dynamic melodies, driving rhythms, and poetic lyrics, Steel Keys & Brass incorporates varied styles such as folk, rock, jazz, bluegrass, and funk into their ever evolving original repertoire, while paying homage to their roots by covering classic rock like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, to jazz standards from greats such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis, to reinterpreting traditional songs such as Shady Grove.
This ability to vary their style along with a wide ranging repertoire of both originals and covers, gives Steel Keys & Brass not only diverse yet fluid live sets, but also gives the opportunity for them to perform in an array of different venues (Bars, Clubs, Coffee Houses, Restaurants, Festivals, Parties, etc.) while still maintaining their unique sound - the natural and organic sound of four friends around a fire, passing a bottle and singing songs.
