Biography

Formed in 2007, consisting John Dixon (drums) and Neil Bailey (guitar). Taking cues from math, hardcore and slow punk rock, the line up originally included Carly Louise Francis on vocals, and played their first show at Ideal, Birmingham with Gentleman's Pistols at the Third Foot skateboards 10th anniversary jam. Carly left early on and was replaced by James Commander (previously of Social Heat, No Friends). Jim played his first show with Teat at a house party in Worcester. This line up recorded a five track demo, with 'Stoner Moms' going towards a split with Fuck Your Haircut (released by Bad Egg) and the rest becoming the 'How High Can A Punk Get' cassette (Eat A Book records). An album, Teat Law, was recorded but never released, becoming available online. Shows with Eyehategod, Torche, Part Chimp and a slot at Supersonic Festival followed, as did Jim's departure mid-2011. Carrying on as a two piece, Teat released 'Butterscotch Crucifixxx' (Carnage Club), a ten-minute, four track EP in 2012. They played their last show, with Blacklisters and Broken Oak Duet, at the Flapper, Birmingham, on the 31st of November in the same year. Jim went on to play drums in Shirtlifter and Black Veins. Neil currently plays bass in Opium Lord.
