Biography
Style Wars (born as Laurens, 26 march 1992, the Netherlands) started to grow a interest in music through his father. His father, a guitarist, loved jazz and because of that Style Wars began to grow the love for jazz. On the age of fourteen he started to come in contact with the guitar. With that starting interest he tried to play it himself. With a simple guitar and some lessons he started to play his guitar, and tried to get some music out of it. In this period he also started to listen to hiphop and what started with the sounds of Snoop Dogg later went to the sound of J Dilla. With the love of jazz and the love of hiphop he wanted to make his own style of hiphop, and with time he started to create his own sound. Because of his own sound he got asked to be a part of the Aztex Lable, and this was his first foot in the door. Now he has grown in his music and has made from regular hiphop to his own jazz combined with hiphop sound.
Style Wars’ Dusty Movement is released under the Aztex Label, initiated and ran by young, talented producers. The labels mission is to deliver fresh, on point sounds to the public’s ear and making sure young talent gets a chance to be heard.
