Biography

Superfan is the musical project and songwriting moniker of Kali Priya Flanagan, a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Known for blending noise-folk, indie rock, and experimental pop, Flanagan creates a distinct soundscape primarily centered around a live collaboration with cellist Omeed Almassi.

Flanagan began studying music at age four, writing original songs by age eleven, and signed a first record deal at just fourteen years old. Flanagan is a versatile multi-instrumentalist proficient in guitar, piano, drums, bass, upright bass, and violin. Flanagan initially gained widespread attention and millions of streams during the pandemic under the indie-pop moniker KALI. Seeking more creative freedom and a departure from the high-pressure, commercial Los Angeles pop scene, Flanagan moved to Brooklyn. In 2023, the project was re-introduced as Superfan. Outside of the solo project, Flanagan also plays in the rising emo band Holidays, and has made live or production cameos for artists like Quiet Light, Operelly, and Jordan Patterson.
