Biography
An eclectic blend of classic influences inspires a distinct stew of melancholic bitter-sweet progressions, melodies, and intricate, syncopated crunchy rhythms. The "Sweet Abraham" sound is as much technojazz and broken beat as it is the deep house that launched his profile.
First appearing in 1996 on London's pre-eminent deep house label Defender's 'It's a DJ Thing' series, SA soon delivered his first album for Defender's Nitedance imprint. Lauded as a sincere and unique take on soulful, jazzy house that challenged the four-to-the-floor paradigm, subsequent projects for Crash Records, deep4life, Diaspora Recordings, and Deeper Soul provided experimental outlets where that sound was sculpted; a process that continues to evolve in his New York City studios.
