Biography
Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Take The Name sits at the intersection of modern hard rock and metalcore, turning heavy music into something deeply personal. Founded by Tyler Kern, Nick Metz, and Keith Gensure, the band has continued to evolve with the addition of guitarist Nor Omar, whose creative approach has opened the door to a new chapter in the band's sound.
Take The Name thrives on contrast. Their music can be crushing and explosive one moment, atmospheric and vulnerable the next. Massive guitar work, relentless drums, and commanding vocals come together in songs that carry real emotional weight. Rather than following a formula, the band leans into the tension between heaviness and melody, aggression and vulnerability, creating music that feels as expansive as it does immediate.

At the heart of their songwriting is the human experience. Their lyrics confront the moments that test us — uncertainty, isolation, failure, growth, and the determination to keep going when moving forward feels impossible. There is no distance between the emotion and the music; every breakdown, chorus, and melody serves a purpose, turning personal struggles into something listeners can recognise as their own.
That connection extends beyond the recordings. Take The Name approaches the stage as a place where the boundaries between performer and audience disappear. The result is a live experience built on energy, release, and genuine connection, music meant to be felt as much as it is heard.
With a growing identity and an evolving sonic palette, Take The Name is carving out its own space within the modern heavy music landscape. Their sound is unapologetically heavy, emotionally honest, and built to resonate long after the final note.
