Biography
Tender Misfit is the alternative pop musical moniker of San Fernando Valley-born singer, songwriter, and model Ariel Beesley. Originally releasing music under her own name starting in 2017, she officially adopted the "Tender Misfit" identity, the moniker inspired by the riot grrrl history book Girls to the Front. Her music balances confrontational, heavy-hitting New Wave and alternative pop sensibilities with highly emotional, synth-driven dance tracks.
Known for her signature vocal "sneer," moxie, and highly animated, theatrical live performances, Beesley muusic is descibed as being about "letting yourself feel your feelings, dancing through your tears and throwing a party along the way." Her production relies heavily on an '80s New Wave influence, dark synths, and aggressive alt-pop guitars.
