Biography
Tetrapot Melon Tea is a fictional Swedish pop band that appears in the manga/anime series Detroit Metal City (2008).
The band's name is first mentioned by Souichi Negishi, the series' protagonist, as a made-up name when he is asked what his band is called, since he is ashamed to admit that he plays in Detroit Metal City, a death metal band. Only moments later does he learn that Tetrapot Melon Tea actually exists, listed above his own band in a karaoke track listing. In a remarkable coincidence, the frontman/vocalist of TMT is none other than Saji, Negishi's junior back in college who looks up to him and shares the same fondness for Swedish pop music.
