The band has been serving up the sugar in the Nation's Capitol for the last five years and are four time recipients of the award for Ottawa's favourite live band/artist, as voted by the readers of X Press magazine.
The Hammerheads' music pays homage to the grandmasters of 70's funk (P.Funk, Cameo, Chic, The J.B.'s, Kool & The Gang, Rick James, Ohio Players, BT Express, SOS Band, etc...). In concert the band uses classic dusties and originals as the foundation of a continuous live jam. Disco, funk, reggae, rock, rap, old-school, dance hall and jazz are all part of the flow... a flow built on non-stop drum and bass, guaranteed to satisfy the most discriminating freak.
