Biography

The Holy Flesh is a UK solo black metal project formed in 2019, exploring the darker and more experimental reaches of occult and progressive black metal.

Built around dissonant guitar work, hypnotic melodies, psychedelic textures and atmospheric passages, The Holy Flesh creates music that is as eerie and immersive as it is unsettling. Rather than relying solely on aggression, the project embraces space, repetition and gradual development, allowing its compositions to unfold as dark, ritualistic and otherworldly journeys.

Occultism, mysticism and the pursuit of the abyss lie at the heart of The Holy Flesh, whose music balances black metal's darkness with psychedelic, progressive and occasionally post-rock elements. The result is a distinctive sound that can be both hauntingly beautiful and deeply sinister.

The project released its debut full-length, Emissary and Vessel, in 2020, followed by the The Holy Flesh / Merger Remnant split in 2022, Herald and Adversary in 2023, and Advocate, Martyr and Redeemer in 2024. In May 2026, The Holy Flesh returned with Notturno, further expanding its atmospheric and progressive approach to occult black metal.
