Established in 2006, the group released three full-length albums that made them indie darlings of the Dutch music press: The Horse Company (2007), Olympus (2009) and Calypso (2012).
All of these albums were written and recorded by the original line-up:
Arjen Hilberdink: vocals, guitar
Vincent Hilberdink: guitar, vocals
Arjan Pronk: bass
Jeroen Holbert: drums
The rhythm section, Pronk and Holbert, left the band in early 2013, followed by the group's decision (in August 2013) to call it a day. In 2021, Arjen Hilberdink launched his solo project Horse, with an eyewink to his former band.
The original Horse Company re-appeared on stage in 2024, playing old songs with the intention to write new ones. Bassist Arjan Pronk amicably left the fold in the fall in 2024, as he decided to start a new life in Spain with his family. There, Pronk fell ill and tragically passed on 24 October 2025.
The Horse Company recruited a new bass player, Geert Bos. Their comeback album, Ever, was finalized in Sweden in the week of Pronk's death. It is set for a November 2026 release.
