Biography
The Melancholiacs are a five-piece alt/rock/pop band (with just a hint of country), based in London.
Formed from the ashes of various solo projects, a failed career in hand modelling and at least one semi-successful US alt rock guitar outfit, The Melancholiacs stumbled together in a flash of chance after sneaking into a matinee screening of a New York Dolls documentary and sharing a hip flask of cheap bourbon & some salted popcorn. Hours later they were strumming cheap guitars, sipping tea and bashing pots and pans, creating songs about summer, sun, life, and girls.

Current members are Steve Hargrave (vocals/guitar), Dan Atrill (bass), Geoff Riley (drums), Tracey McCay (vocals/keyboards) and Jim Gomez (guitar/mandolin).
The band are still trying to work out why they are called The Melancholiacs, given their upbeat, optimistic, sun-filled sounds. Perhaps they'll never know.
