Simon Wakeling - Vocals

Shaun Harvey (Le Havre) - Guitars

Bio:

Although The Posers formed in early 1995 it wasn't until Germany's Peter Fieger from Blind Beggar Records came to Canada to see them play in 1996 that they landed their first record deal. The band went into the studio and in 1997 their first vinyl EP entitled "Kill The Ravers" was released. The record received rave reviews in many international fanzines and the first pressing sold completely out within a few months. This record is currently on its second pressing and has done especially well on Canadian airwaves. Since their debut performance in February 95' The Posers have played over 100 shows, both locally and out of town and have shared the stage with notable bands such as Red Alert, The Dayglo Abortions, BunchoFuckinGoofs, The Varukers, The Restarts, Urbn Dk, Strychnine, Pretentious Assholes, Aus Rotten, Oi Polloi, Misery, and many more.

To date The Posers have released three vinyl EPs, a CD/LP and are currentlyinvolved in projects with close to 15 international record labels. Their second EP entitled "Whats Become" ranked #6 on Canadian College airwaves for September 1997 according to Exclaim Magazine. Not bad for a DIY album competing against major-label distribution!

The Posers third EP entitled "Worse Than Nothing" on New Jersey's Oink Records recieved many, many great reviews and has almost completely sold -out the first pressing. A full-length CD/LP on Oink Records was recently released.

The Posers are now signed with San Diego's Cargo Music and they will remain true to the DIY punk spirit indefinately!
