Subscribing to a theory centered around Decent Chappism, honour above all, the ‘family’ and a fresh outlook on rock’n’roll with plenty of emphasis on the ‘roll, there is definitely more to this Perth four piece than meets the eye.

Singles Thomas Thomas, Killer Line and Oliver from the gent’s debut EP The Slim Pickins (recorded/ produced Dave Parkin/ Blackbird, available through Winterborn/ Inertia) have been spun on Triple J, RTR, PBS, FBi, Twin Cities and Indie 103.1 FM. Keep an eye (and ear out) for Suit & Saviour appearing in SLAM Skate Magazines first ever DVD.

Under both their previous moniker and newer incarnation, the gents have played with Children Collide, British India, Dallas Crane, Tame Impala, Violent Soho, Sugar Army, Blueline Medic, Harlequin League, The Galvatrons, The Checks, The Silents, The Pictures, The Exploders, Red Jezebel, Digger & The Pussycats to name but a few, as well as The Devil’s Kitchen Festival 2008/09, In The Pines 2008, Love Like Violence NYE ’08, WAMi Opening Party 2008 and RTR Radiothon Closing Party 2007, not to mention receiving a nomination in the WAM Song Of The Year 2007 (Piece Of The Pie) and 2009 Garage 2V Wildcard final entrants. The Scotch have just received a ‘Most Promising New Act’ nomination in the 2009 WAMi’s (to be announced May)

Very recently Unearthed by Triple J, The Scotch took to the 2009 Big Day Out stage armed with new tracks from their forthcoming debut album (tentatively titled Vigilante Neck Tie Party), which is set for a mid 09 release. The first single Blue Plastic Spoon, a jangly rock’n’roll waltz, has gone straight to Triple J rotation as well as receiving healthy airplay on RTR FM.

The second single, The Happy Peacock is coming your way end of April before the gents take off on a Double A Side Tour beginning of May and national album tour in August.

To see and hear what all the hoopla is about, you will need to head to their next live show as most of what they are currently playing is yet to be released.

However, in but mere words, imagine the groove of Supergrass, mixed with the dark beauty and tones of BRMC, surging with the stoner bliss of QOTSA, all smattered with the rock’n’roll dance ethic of Kasabian.

In but two words – MOTIVATED STONER.

Welcome to the family…
