Biography

Since there are two artists currently that go by this same name, this page is shared by both.

The Shed, known as "~ The Shed ~" on Bandcamp and @theshedvista on Instagram. This four-piece band's members include Jacob Hadden, Alan Figueroa, Ricardo Macias, and Mario Figueroa. They have developed a sound unique to the surf rock scene with a psychedelic / indie style and calm mood. The Shed released their first set of track demos, titled "The Shed // Demo" featured on the KKSM college radio station. In 2016, they released their first full-length album with official productions from previously released demo tracks, titled "The Shed". In the same year, the band began single releases of their next album and that same year put out "Bassment". Also following this release, The Shed put out their final album to-date (as of 1/5/22) two years later called "S. Santa Fe". With their hit song "I Don't Mind" gathering over 1,000,000 streams on spotify, The Shed amassed quite a following. This album was followed up by two singles in 2019 titled "Do the Math" and "All on Me".

The Shed released their first EP "What are you Listening to Lately?" in September 2007 and followed up with a self-titled debut album in December of that year. Since then they've garnered quite a following in their hometown and beyond and were voted Cork's Best New Band of 2007 in a joint Red FM/Evening Echo poll.

In June 2010 The Shed launched their second album, a collection of 13 tracks entitled 'Goldfish Love', which saw the band move in new musical directions. As the album title would suggest a somewhat skewed perspective is emitted through the fish-eyed lens of this intrepid six-piece. Over the course of 60 minutes the band traverses many musical pathways and the diverse subject matter includes a road trip that ends in alien abduction [The Cliffs], an homage to the inventor of the lava lamp [Craven Walker], the guilty pleasures of homemade jam [Rory's Homemade Jam], the serenity of eternal love [Goldfish Love], subconscious immolation [Wildfire], social networking satire [Friends on MySpace], an urban mystic [The Weatherman] and the ages of man [7 Songs]. Add to this a dash of The Shed's array of musical styles from dreamy pop to indie punch, acoustic folk to a healthy dose of cosmic wig outs; put it in a bowl and stir it up and you've got an aural fruit cocktail ripe for tasting.
