Biography
The Sledge - a hard rock band from the Knox area, and not the same old generic rock you hear too much of these days. Riff orientated rock projected through the double guitar attack of Dan and Shannon and taken to another level by the powerful vocals of singer Shaun, topped off with Mick's tight and powerful drumming - resulting in a hard driven fusion of four keen instrumentalists.
Started a few years ago in the Ferntree Gully area as a three piece rock band. After hiring a permanent rhythm guitarist the band began to develop a strong and powerful sound. Along the road the band has gone through a number of drummers, finally settling on Michael in late 2010. It was here when a new name was chosen, and The Sledge was born and finally ready to hit the road hard. During early 2011 the vocal duties were made independent, and a new bass player was brought on, subtly changing their sound again. They have been gigging in many popular venues in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne as well as the CBD, and continue to do this with increasing crowds.
