Biography
The UBA was an indie power pop band in Dallas, TX. The band was started as Honor Among Thieves in 2003, with Brandon "Pip" Pinson on guitar and vocals and Richard Keller on bass. In 2005, after a Myspace message from another band with the same name, Brandon and Richard decided to change the name to The Unoriginal Bastard Assembly, or The UBA, inspired by a mutual liking for the comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade.
In early 2006, Brandon Butters joined on drums. The name was changed to just The UBA, and the band played their first shows. Later that year, the band added vocalist Aimie Lovett.

In early 2007, Brandon Pinson was unceremoniously dismissed from the band, and a change of direction was cited as the reason. Having handled the songwriting duties up to this point, Pinson's songs left with him. Keller and Lovett stepped up to music and lyrical duties, respectively. Todd Rogers was added as guitarist.
Throughout the summer of 2007, The UBA acquired a booking agent and played shows across the DFW area, including a Battle of the Bands show which yielded free recording time and the start of their EP. During this period, Keller wrote the song Crash Landing for the short film Leaving Town, which The UBA recorded and mastered in a matter of hours.
Todd Rogers left the band in August 2007 to go to school at SFA University, but not before recording guitars on Bleeding and LFTM.
The band headed into the studio as a trio in November 2007 to round out what would eventually be their only output, the This Wolf-Rayet EP. Produced by Seth Faulkner of Dirty Little Mouth, the EP touched on multiple genres and textures, from pop-punk New Wave to electronic dance metal. The EP featured the guitar work of future members Sam Lomax (of Blitzer) and Ben Smith.
Before the EP's release, Richard Keller left the group on April, 2008, citing personal differences. The group released This Wolf-Rayet the next month, with Lomax on bass and Smith on guitar for the live show. After this night, the band changed its name to the EPs title and added new members, subsequently dissolving in December, 2008.
Pinson went on to do solo work, playing sets across the Metroplex. Butters and Lomax continued on with their project, Blitzer. Lovett started a solo career under the name Loretti, and Keller released a solo album entitled Modular in 2010.
