Biography
Toodles & the Hectic Pity are a Bristol-based folk-punk-emo three-piece comprising Callum McAllister, Max Cole and Dom Mosley. The three members grew up in the same group of villages north of Bristol and went to school together before forming a band in their late teens and early twenties. Their plans were disrupted when they went to university in different cities, but they subsequently reunited as Toodles & the Hectic Pity.
Their music combines acoustic punk, folk and emo with influences including The Mountain Goats, AJJ, Neutral Milk Hotel, Mobo and Good Luck. The band's songs often deal with anxiety, relationships, politics, work and everyday life, balancing emotionally direct lyrics with energetic DIY punk arrangements. Their debut The First EP was released in 2016, followed by Ghosts, Guilt & Grandparents in 2020 and Hold Onto Happiness With Both Hands in 2023. In 2026 they released Every Night is a Beautiful Night, a three-track EP recorded at JT Soar in Nottingham.
