Biography
The band was started in 1999 under the name JHIC (Joining Him in Christ) when the three guys, Sean, Marvan and Jeremy, decided to take part in a variety concert at their high school. With Marvan and Jeremy having just started to learn their instruments, they had to work hard to get their first song (Johnny be Goode) ready for the concert.
After a few months the band decided on a new name after hearing a teaching from 1 Chronicles 25:1, 6-8:

"David, together with the commanders of the army, set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals. All these men were under the supervision of their fathers for the music of the temple of the LORD, with cymbals, lyres and harps,
for the ministry at the house of God.
Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman were under the supervision of the king.
Along with their relatives - all of them trained and skilled in music
for the LORD - they numbered 288."
The then current band members (who each representing one of the 3 fathers whose sons were set apart) had the vision of making music in church and leading people in worship (also prophesying) by using their instruments skillfully for the glorification of God.
The guys then got involved at their local church, Walmer Methodist, in the worship teams, youth and Sunday services, where they grew their gifts in worship leading and youth ministry. Opportunities arose for Two88 to play more for youth events, camps, other churches, schools, etc. In 2002 Merissa joined the all-boy band which now would never be the same.
God continued to bless Two88 enabling them to purchase better equipment, which led to greater opportunities for more frequent ministering. As God blessed and used them, the band grew musically, spiritually and emotionally.
In 2005 they got the opportunity to open for International band Delirious which they took head on. There were over 2500 people there giving them the chance to share their ministry with many others, and this event had a great impact on the bands lives.
Soon after, the band decided to record a live worship album which they finished at the end of February 2007. The album consisted of recordings from the live event and some studio recordings. They released the album when they opened for Local and International band Tree63. There were around 3500 people at this event which was a really awesome experience for the band.
Since then, the band has played where God has called them. In September of 2007, the band entered a local competition where they were narrowly beaten out of the top ten. However, this has not deterred them as it has opened many doors for the band since then.
Two88 recorded their second full studio album “Follow” with Brian McLagan (Wang from the Finklesteins) which has just been completed. The CD launch is on the 15th March 2008.
As a group of friends that just love the Lord and love using their instruments to reach others in worship, this band still learns every day as they journey to fulfil the mission to let their light shine before men, so that their good deeds may be seen and praise be given to our Father in heaven (Matt 5:16).
