Biography
Vampyress is a magick metal/occult rock band from the UK.
Their first batch of demos "Undead Legion" & "Realm Of My Heart", along with a cover of Atomic Rooster's "Breakthrough" would appear on a split cassette titled "The Smoke Demos" with Acapulco Mould distributed by Green Coyote Records in 2020. In 2021 they would return with the single Tales from the Ghoulag, get taken off Bandcamp, and release their first compilation via SoundCloud, titled Order of the Dragon. This compilation would begin with a revision of the track Realm Of My Heart, now entitled "Realm Of My Heart (MkII)" and would be of a higher recording fidelity than that first release. The track would be notable for being the last track of theirs to use a drum machine before switching to a real drummer. The release would also include all of their previous work from the split with Acapulco Mould. The "Realm Of My Heart/Tales From The Ghoulag" single would see a release on 7" vinyl and be distributed by the labels "Abraxas Grooves" & "Teutonic Fury Records", along with their Order of the Dragon compilation being released on cassette.

In late 2022 Vampyress would appear on a split EP with the deathrock project Billy ᛟ Odal with their song "Emascula" and Odal's "Death Machine" which would see a special release on a lathe cut 7" vinyl self-released by Abraxas Grooves limited to 69 copies. Around that time, a reissue of the Realm Of My Heart / Tales From The Ghoulag single would be released via smoke shop and record label "Johnny Smokes" on a green 7" vinyl record with a recolored green Vampyress cover to match. The band would later reappear in 2023 on Billy ᛟ Odal's sophomore album "And The Search For Agartha, Pt. II" for the track "Blavatsky Beat" lending vocalist Von Strix's vocals for the verses & including a solo by Vampyress' guitarist Pipoy Santanas. During the release of the physical copies for Odal's second album via "Hidden Hand Records", a label promoting other similar acts such as Edelweiss, The Gates, & Svampe Alkemi; a limited reissue of the "Emascula/Death Machine" split EP would be released on cassette.
December 2024 would see the release of their debut album via Hidden Hand Records, "Sapphic Sorcery," which would be a blend of psychedelic rock, occult folk, magick metal, and sapphic themes, something the band had been shifting towards since their first lo-fi releases. The final track of the album would be a reprise of the Undead Legion demo, being the now fully-realized "Undead Legion MKII". The inserts of the album's physical releases through Hidden Hand Records and later GoatowaRex reissues would include image of porn actresses Dominique Saint Claire & Rosemary Henson taken from scans of an old magazine, along with the band's current lineup which is as follows:
