Biography
Growing up in Michigan, Vaughn G wasn’t exposed to much R&B music, as country and rock were the predominant genres in his small town. Infatuated with singing at an early age Vaughn was supported by his Grandmother who, was also a singer and prompted him to join the church youth group. Listening to many R&B singers such as Anita Baker, Brian McKnight, Charlie Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Raphael Saadiq, Neyo and Usher to name a few, Vaughn began to hone his talent and write his own songs. Vaughn finds inspiration from everyday situations and describes his lyrics as passionate, heartfelt and uplifting.
Surfing through YouTube one day, Vaughn saw that people were posting videos of themselves performing and decided to take a shot and post some of his own videos. As luck would have it, Rod and Ralph Floreal founders of MGT Records came across the videos and immediately contacted Vaughn. Before he knew it he was on a plane to Miami and a few days later signed to their independent label. ‘I am so happy to be apart of MGT Records and look forward to what the future holds for me’, says Vaughn. Vaughn’s first single, My Sheets is currently hitting the South Florida airwaves and being well received amongst DJs across the country. A video for the single is on the works and Vaughn is in the studio working on tracks for his fore-coming album that is presently untitled. MGT Records plans to set Vaughn up with numerous shows in the New Year and are very proud of Vaughn’s work ethic and drive to succeed. ‘We see the sky as the limit for our label and with Vaughn as our first artist out of the gate’, says CEO Rod Floreal.
