Voices From The Lake became widely regarded as a landmark release in ambient techno, creating a deeply hypnotic and organic sound that seems to move between underwater atmospheres, forests and open landscapes. Field recordings, subtle percussion, drones and intricate electronic textures blend together into music that can be experienced as both techno and pure listening music.
Their second major release, Live at MAXXI, followed in 2015, documenting their evolving live approach. After years of selective performances and individual work, Dozzy and Neel returned as Voices From The Lake with II in 2025, continuing and reinventing the project's distinctive, meditative sound.
Voices From The Lake remain one of the most influential projects in contemporary ambient and hypnotic techno.
