Biography
Winselmutter is an antifascist black metal band from Osnabrück, Germany, formed in 2024. Drawing inspiration from the raw, cold sound of 90s black metal, the band combines relentless blast beats, fierce tremolo picking and shrieking vocals with an atmosphere of despair, rage and decay.
Beyond their music, Winselmutter take an uncompromising stance against fascism and the far right within the black metal scene. In their 2025 statement on Instagram, they explicitly rejected sharing stages or platforms with right wing and NSBM acts, as well as the so called grey zone that attempts to separate music from its political context. They also condemn racism, nationalism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia, making their opposition to reactionary ideologies an integral part of their identity. Their message is clear: there is no room for fascists in black metal.

With their demo Demo 2024, debut album Schattentod in der Leibeswelt and EP Ketzergeyst, Winselmutter channel the raw spirit of second wave black metal while refusing to surrender the underground to fascists.
