Biography
Winter Eternal is a melodic black metal band originally from Athens, Greece, now based in Glasgow, Scotland (relocated around 2018). It is primarily a one-man project masterminded by Soulreaper (guitar, bass, vocals, composition), with session/live support as needed. Formed in 2011 (with earlier roots as Unveiled Nightsky), they create cold, atmospheric, and melodic black metal with themes of darkness, pain, sorrow, and wintery isolation.
Winter Eternal blends traditional black metal aggression with strong melodic leads, atmospheric layers, and epic songwriting. Their sound is often described as melancholic yet ferocious, with excellent guitar work and a sense of wintry desolation. They have evolved steadily across releases, gaining a dedicated following in the melodic black metal underground.
