Biography
Marisa Kosugi has always been inspired by her mother, Matsutoyo Sato, who is a true artistt and because of her dedication in sharing Minyo-Japanese Folk Music with others through out California, Marisa realized that Minyo is special and since she grew up listening to it as a young child, Marisa sees herself as continuing Japanese culture. As a Japanese American, it is my responsibility to embrace and learn. "Minyo are true stories about the Japanese Culture, their life, their daily routines...in the fields, Lullibies, Fishing Songs, Tea Picking Songs, Wedding Songs, etc."
