Biography
Xenosis is an American progressive and technical death metal band from New Haven, Connecticut, formed in 2010. Combining intricate musicianship, complex rhythmic structures and a relentless death metal foundation, the band has spent more than a decade developing a sound that balances technical sophistication with raw aggression and an uncompromising heaviness.
Their music draws upon the progressive side of extreme metal, incorporating shifting time signatures, elaborate guitar work, prominent bass lines and tightly coordinated percussion. Rather than treating technicality as an end in itself, Xenosis use their instrumental complexity to create dense, constantly evolving compositions, moving between intricate passages, crushing riffs and forceful grooves. Their sound also incorporates dissonant and brutal death metal elements, adding further intensity to their already challenging musical approach.

Their third album, Paralleled Existence, arrived in October 2021, further developing the band's progressive and technical death metal framework. Across these releases, Xenosis established a distinctive identity built around intricate arrangements, rhythmic unpredictability and a balance between precision and brutality.
In June 2026, Xenosis released their fifth full-length album, Hermetic Transmutation, through Transcending Obscurity Records. Featuring eight tracks, including “Sentient Shapes,” “Prolapsed Twin Entombment,” “Spore Whore” and “Altar of the Hound,” the album expands upon their established sound with further progressive experimentation, dissonance and brutal death metal influences. The record features vocalist Sal Bova, guitarists Kenny Bullard and Keith Benway, bassist Travers Kenney, and drummer Gary Marotta.
With their fusion of technical precision, progressive complexity and uncompromising death metal brutality, Xenosis continue to push their sound into increasingly intricate territory, delivering music that rewards close listening without sacrificing the genre's essential heaviness.
