Biography
Yossi Shitrit (Hebrew: יוסי שטרית; born August 28, 1997) is an Israeli Mizrahi/Mediterranean pop singer who rose to prominence as the runner-up on season 2 of The X Factor Israel (mentored by Ivri Lider). He had earlier auditioned unsuccessfully for Eyal Golan Calls You at age 14 due to being underage. After studying Mediterranean music at Rimon School of Music, he released his debut album Shover Et Ha’gvulot (Breaking the Boundaries) in November 2017.
Hits from the album and subsequent singles—especially “Hatzi Rusia Hatzi Marokait” (“Half Russian, Half Moroccan,” tens of millions of YouTube views), “Zeh Lo Kal,” “Hatuna,” and “Machshavot”—established him as a popular live performer with a steady stream of radio and streaming success. He has also acted, appearing in the Cameri musical Zeh Ani (2019) and the TV series Shnot Ha-90 (2022), with further roles including Zaguri Empire season 3. He continues releasing new material (including the 2026 EP Ani Chozer) and maintains an active touring schedule of concerts and events.
