Between 1996 and 2000, the group was joined by Nussli Jean-Marc (on drums). During this period, under the production of Adipocère Records, the band released their first album, which received recognition from both the French and international press [citation needed], including the EP Sycamore Grove. Between 2000 and 2003, the band relocated to the Paris region, even forming a community in Chalo-Saint-Mars. It was during this time that they developed their major work, the album My Swan Song. Meanwhile, in 2001, the group released the album Terrorisme Spirituel: Insoumission Complète through Adipocère Records.

Since 2004, the band members have been split between Paris and Arles. After a period of inactivity, the band welcomed Thomas Das Neves (from Heavenly) as their drummer in 2006 and began preparing a new album in 2007. However, this collaboration ended in early 2008. Still searching for a drummer to help bring their next production to fruition, Your Shapeless Beauty partnered with Franky Costanza (drummer of the French bands Dagoba and Blazing War Machines), which enabled the project to move forward. The recordings, initially planned for October 2008, were postponed multiple times.

At the end of 2009, drum recordings by Franky Costanza were completed, laying the groundwork for an album planned for release in 2010, titled Phoinike. However, the album was not released until early 2015, marking a 12-year gap since their previous album.
