Biography

Zilqy is a Japanese four-piece metal band formed in 2025 consisting of vocalist Anna, guitarist Toki, bassist Miho and drummer Kano. The group describes itself as a “Global All-Female Metal Band from Japan” and its musical style as “Post-Melodic Nu Metal.”

Guitarist Toki dreamed of performing internationally since she began playing guitar. In 2007 she played in the visual kei band LAYLA (ライラ) and later joined Aldious in 2009. She has said that joining Aldious introduced her to metal and helped shape her as a musician. Around 2023, she decided to form a band with the goal of reaching audiences around the world. She had previously played with bassist Miho from the band LOVEBITES several times in Okinawa and admired her bass playing and stage presence. Toki invited Miho to join the new project, and the two began looking for a vocalist who could sing fluently in English. Miho found a video of Anna singing on Instagram, and, after watching it, the musicians asked a mutual acquaintance to introduce them to her. Kano completed the lineup on drums.
