Biography

“I spent a lot of my first year at University playing World of Warcraft, then I got out for a bit and went to Thailand to live, then I came back to London and started figuring some shit out. I have a deep love for the simple things… Long story short: I sing songs, I write stories and I use coconut oil”

“I’m a geek…which means I have a special place in my heart for fantasy films/books/games…My friends often call me ethereal, or ‘wizard’ or ‘shaman’… maybe it’s because I do weird things like eating raw ginger or playing monopoly with cowry shells. Anyway, magic and music are very much the same things to me.”

Bólátitó is a London-based artist, but his skin, hair and general DNA are from Nigeria. In Yoruba, Bólátitó means “how joy sanctifies me”. His music, enticed by his amazing voice, is reassuring and sounds like a vocal hug. His father was a journalist but he likes to present him first as a Chief of Storytelling; A style that Bólátitó has probably inherited from him. The artist, who is only 25, proposes a new kind of music; a chill and surprising mix of genres that is actually difficult and irrelevant to label.

So who is Bólátitó? A world-based Shaman with African root; a voice of velvet and comfort, who turns his music into smooth experimentations and his lyrics into magical stories.
