Biography
New Zealander Dave Edwards’ solo albums fused lo-fi acoustic and electric songs, spoken word and avant-garde improv. More recent works show an instrumental shift from guitar to banjo and woodwinds, and incorporate computer, field recordings from international travel and video projections.
Collaborations include guitar/cello/drums trio The Winter (with Mike Kingston and Simon Sweetman); award-winning 14-piece Ascension Band; and quasi-historical Steampunk Folktronica project. Started in New Plymouth, moved to Wellington 1999, to Melbourne 2005, to Nelson 2006, South Korea 2007, Europe 2008, and Okinawa Japan 2011.
