In the late eighties, Stanton's career hit a downturn, his second album, a collection of whale sounds entitled 'My sex noises and me' didn't sell well at all, failing to reach the target demographic of young horny women.

In 1998, his career once again saw a resurgence, his third album, 'No means Yes' featured the song 'Playing for the Hibees'. Both went straight to number one around the world.

Stanton's fourth album 'Indigo Flats' was released in 2005, a conservative album compared to his previous works.

Stanton currently resides in the Cayman Islands, where he doesn't have to pay tax on his millions of gold watches, and diamond studded Prince Albert Piercing.

It was announced in late 2012 that Stanton's next album, a grunge based album called 'Head in the Oven' would be released in mid 2013. The first single of the album, entitled 'Stacking shelves for Satan' is based off of his experiences after losing his millions and being forced to work at tesco to pay the bills.

On april 24 2013, the second single from Head in the Oven was announced. 'Pills, Thrills and Toasters in the tub' will be released at the end of May 2013.

Following poor sales of the 'Head in the Oven' album, Stanton took time off from the music business to devote more time to his career as an author. In June 2014 he filed a copyright action lawsuit against artist 'The Mysterious and Handsome Stranger' after tMaHS album 'Indiego flats' was accused of being too closely based on Stanton 2005 work 'Indigo Flats'. In July 2014 it was revealed Stanton and tMaHS had settled out of court for a suspected two-figure sum.

Stanton announced on his official twitter page on July 31st 2014 that two new albums were in the works.

'Magnum Opossum' , a greatest hits compilation is due to be released in time for Christmas, while 'Into the Whorenets nest', a sequel to his first album 'Too many bitches, not enough time' is expected in 2015.
