Biography
Mashuptown.com is not in and of itself a musical artist, but rather a web site which hosts a popular podcast of mashups by other artists. Songs which appear with the artist listed as Mashuptown.com are likely from this podcast, and are actually attributable to a variety of mashup DJs and remix artists who contribute their tracks to Mashuptown.com to be featured for wider exposure.
Mashup, bootleg or Bastard Pop, is a musical genre which, in its purest form, consists of the combination of the music from one song with the a cappella from another. Ideally, the music and vocals belong to completely different styles/genres generally considered to be incompatible, yet skillfully and artfully combined into a pleasurably euphonic hybrid.

Since Mashuptown.com focuses exclusively on mashups (sometimes also called "bastard pop"), there are usually multiple artists involved in the creation of the music: the mashup artist who has digitally edited together the final track, as well as the original artists of the original songs used in the mashup.
