matt proxy (born September 17, 2006) is an American recording artist and producer coming from Minneapolis, Minnesota, known for his use of experimental sounds in his music.
Matt has been making music since 2019 under various aliases, including “cloutedmatt” and “mwru,” but has first gained traction with his new “matt proxy” alias in late 2024 with the song “wtf do i gotta do to get my bitch back” going viral on social media.

In early 2025, Matt released his debut EP titled beating a dead horse, where he showcased to fans a staple self-produced sound moving forward in his career. He would continue to release music up until the release of the song “catfish,” which would help solidify him to new heights, gaining attention from the likes of fakemink, JPEGMAFIA, Current Joys, Trippie Redd, and Playboi Carti.
In 2026, Matt earned a spot in the 2026 Underground Sound Cypher, where his verse on “Passion” (specifically the second half) would gain attention online thanks to his very distorted sound. He would go on to release his debut studio album trojan horse on June 19, 2026.
