Biography
The Choir Practice is an indie pop band formed in 2005 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, after the choirmaster, Coco Culbertson, decided to recruit friends old and new to form a musical collective. According to Shane Turner, the band was originally formed “as an excuse to drink wine and sing with friends.”
The band released their self-titled debut album The Choir Practice on Mint Records on 15 May 2007. They attracted significant media notice in April when Jarvis Cocker announced that he had selected the band to open his Vancouver concert on 1 May 2007. The band has also received critical acclaim from Exclaim! for their debut and has been featured on CBC Radio.
