Trance Americana is the sound that Vanessa Boyd and Company is producing with a combination and flow of the traditional Moroccan hajhuj, the baritone ukulele, guitar, cello and vocals, all electrified and run through effects. An electro-acoustic integration of elements of Sufi, Gnawa and psychedelic trance rhythms with folk and Americana melodies and stylings.
Vanessa Boyd and Company includes Vanessa Boyd on hajhuj, ukulele and guitar, Bryan Teoh on cello, ukulele and guitar, and Kyle Marshall on bass and drums.
The April East Coast tour is celebrating the limited edition 12” vinyl release of Pleasant Stay Hotel, which will be available in hard copy from LA Music Factory and digitally on iTunes.
