Biography
Angest is a multinational black metal project formed in 2025. The band channels themes of fear, emotional collapse, psychological paralysis, isolation, numbness, and the slow erosion of identity and the ability to function.
Angest brings together musicians from Austria, Belgium, Canada, and France, with three members connected to the remains of the multinational band Lebenssucht. Other connections include Cult of Erinyes, Détresse, LVTHN, Humanitas Error Est, Goat Torment, (ex-)Enthroned, Gevurah, and Towering. Their sound emphasizes oppressive atmosphere, tension, suffocating emotional weight, layered arrangements, and melodic details within a raw black metal framework. It aims for a descent into the restless depths of the human mind through torn vocals, intricate drums, sophisticated guitar work, and driving bass.
