Biography
Urzirkel is a German black metal band featuring three quarters of the final Toadeater lineup. While drawing on their members’ experience in atmospheric black metal, the band takes a rawer and more ritualistic approach, combining abrasive riffs, harsh vocals and dissonant melodies with a dark, melancholic atmosphere. Their music revolves around an imagined ancient cult devoted to the earth and primordial forces, exploring themes of sacrifice, decay, death and rebirth. Urzirkel blends raw black metal aggression with an ominous, ceremonial atmosphere that sets it apart from the members’ previous work.
