Biography
Formed as an international extreme metal supergroup during the COVID-19 pandemic, Arise From Worms is a technical death metal powerhouse featuring guitarist/bassist Sonny Lombardozzi (ex-Incantation), vocalist Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel), and legendary drummer Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy). Turning heads in the underground with their self-titled 2022 debut EP, the trio fuses the crushing weight of North American brutal death metal with complex music theory, neoclassical sweep-picking, and discombobulating jazz-fusion elements.
Joined by keyboardist Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater), the band pushed their boundary-testing, avant-garde technicality even further on their highly intricate debut full-length album, A Bleeding Tree Hanging Self Destruction (2026), cementing their status as a wild, high-IQ anomaly in modern death metal.
